ILLEGAL TRANSPORTATION OF CONTRABANNED DRY GANJA FROM BERHAMPUR OF
ORISSA STATE TO MAHARASTRA STATE VIA HYDERABAD OF TELANGANA STATE-
ARRESTED ONE DRUG PEDDLER FROM TELANGANA STATE – SEIZED (210) KGs OF
GANJA, (1) KIA CAR, (1) MOBILE PHONE, ALL WORTH RS.60,00,000/- FROM THEIR
POSSESSION.
On 25.06.2023 at evening hours, acting on specific information, the sleuths of Special
Operation Team (SOT), Shamshabad Zone along with Medchal Police arrested one drug
peddler namely 1. Jarupla Thirupathi s/o Ramulu and seized (210) Kgs of Ganja, (1) car, and (1)
mobile phone, all worth about Rs. 60, 00,000/- from their possession.

PROFILE OF THE ACCUSED PERSONS:
The A-1 (Seetha Ram) belongs to Orissa State. Since some period, the A-2(Mathru Nayak)
to A-3(Shiva) have been running the illicit transportation of Ganja from Berhampur Village of
Orissa State to Maharashtra State to earn easy money. A-4(Thirupathi) is in the business of
transporting illicit contraband Ganja. A-3(Shiva) being the Receiver of Illicit Contrabanned Ganja
in Mahasrtara State who finally sells to needy customers at high rate.
During the process, the A-1 (Seetha Ram) Procures the Ganja at local Ganja cultivators
around Berhampur agency area and supply to Ganja sellers in different states. A-2(Mathru
Nayak) monitors this illegal business by talking to the source of supply and also dispose the
same by selling it to the needy customers. The A-4(Jarupla Thirupathi) transports the material
from Berhampur Village of Orissa State to Maharashtra State in Kia Car by following the
instructions of A-2(Mathru Nayak) in disposing of the Material.
According to the plan, A-2(Mathru Nayak) contacted the A-1 (Seetha Ram) for Procurement
of Dry Ganja about 210Kgs and in midst of which the same was being transported with the Help
of A-4(Thirupathi) who in return of easy money per contract is transporting the Illegal contraband
Ganja. The A-4(Thirupathi), as per the instructions of the A-2(Mathru Nayak), packed the
material from Berhampur and was moving the same to Maharashtra state.
Later Upon the instructions of A-2(Mathru Nayak) on 24/06/2023 night hours A-4 is went to
Berhampur by Kia Vehicle and met with A-1(Seetha Ram). Thereafter, the source of supply A-1
procure (105) packets of Ganja containing (2) Kgs in each and all weighing about (210) Kgs
underneath the brown tape as usual not to identify by anyone, same was Handed over to A-4
and he started from Berhampur to Maharastra Via Hyderabad in his Kia Vehicle.
Meanwhile, due to the tightness of Telangana state over this illegal activity, on the
instructions of the A-2 enrooted the vehicles avoid toll roads, as to escape the checking’s in
Hyderabad out skirts and pass the vehicles from Hyderabad.
But, today i.e. on 25.06.2023 at evening hours, on receipt of specific information, the joint
team of SOT Shamshabad Zone and staff of PS Medchal Police caught the accused A-4 who is
transporting the Ganja in Kia Vehicle Br. No: TS 22 H 4835 at Near Srinivasa container shed, at
Medchal Check post, under the limits of Medchal PS. On through oral enquiry to A-4 revealed
that he is transporting the 210 KGS of Ganga in his vehicle Br. No: TS 22 H 4835 and was
giving it to A-3. Immediately the team caught the A-4 and vehicle loaded with Dry Ganja and
seized the above said 1 car along with (210) KGs of Ganja. As per the version of accused, they
purchase the Ganja @ Rs.3000/- per KG and sell it to the needy customers @ Rs.20, 000/-
per KG.
The above arrest was made under the supervision of Sri Stephen Ravindra, IPS.
